Asbestos mapping

  • Jixel-AMIANTO provide monitoring and mapping of asbestos-cement (Eternit) roofing through a highly-automatized analysis of aerial color digital photos and/or high-resolution multispectral satellite images.
    The service is based on a patent, mature technology that provides a support to fact-finding activities issued by law which is quicker and more economic than an on-site analysis on an equivalent area. The same technology also makes possible:
    – a “Spot” activity for a prompt census of roofing without the need of on-site interventions
    – annual checks of the monitoring of the removal/neutralization of asbestos-cement roofing
  • From high-resolution aerial photos (e.g. Volo Italia 2012) provided by the user, the service generates maps delivered with Licence (Privilege – non-commercial – not works from 3.0 Italia [CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 IT]); these maps can be integrated with Jixel-MANAGER for the management of environmental risks and the planning of recovery interventions.

    The service is realized on areas of around 2.000 sq.km., enough for a medium-sized urban area. A “mosaic coverage” on larger areas (such as Regions) is possible by simply acquiring more Jixel-AMIANTO licences.
